Before I saw marketing and communications fully submerge into the world of social media I worked at PerkSpot. Where I had the opportunity to find a witty voice for a company. I was their first Account Manager and built that role into a Content Manager in charge of a team and a library of content. Along with building emails and campaign strategies we wrote and designed eCommerce advertising ads ranging from Fortune 500, start-ups, educational institutes, and basically, if you can name it we've created and written for it. Below you'll find different ad placements from our weekly emails and site placements that go out to roughly 8 million subscribers. These are some of my favorites of the thousands I've written.
At PerkSpot I wrote and created placements for eCommerce advertising. I did a lot of writing for something near to my heart, food.
The world is full of "headline-only" readers so you need to draw them in quickly. I try to keep everything sort and sweet to keep them interested long enough to click.
For gift guides, I write a little more since we try to hold a funny yet expert voice. This example from Wolven is one of my favorites. The client didn't think their demographic fit in a Mother's Day theme, but after they were presented with this copy they loved it, and it performed very well.
With our retargeting program, you want to catch their eye while pulling them into their original purchasing mindset.
For some of our evergreen partner deals I was able to test out some pretty punny and funny copy on one of my favorite IPs.
That was a glimpse into my work over 6 years. I'm always looking to expand my knowledge and push the boundaries of what I can do.
